Helen Skelton Davis, 78, of 2631 Poinsett Highway, Apartment 201, widow of Martin Davis, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 22, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown.Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Jule and Ollie Ballenger Skelton.Mrs. Davis was retired from Laurel Hill Nursing Home and was a member of Agnew Road Baptist Church.Surviving are two daughters, Ann Norman of Taylors, Lynn Tillotson of Powdersville; a son, Bill Davis of Taylors; seven grandchildren, Pam Bolding, Wendy Looper, Scott Davis, Melissa Miller, Lesley Scruggs, Tyler Davis, Cayla Tillotson; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene and Lawrence Skelton; three sisters, Virginia Murphy, Bertha Ross, Elizabeth Davis; and a special friend, Carol Williams.Visitation will be held today, July 24, 2005 from 1:30 to 2:45 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Waycross Baptist Church Cemetery.
