CARPENTER, HELEN CROAN, 94, of Shepherdsville died February 19, 2010 at Masonic Home, Shelbyville. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hamlet and Cora Mattingly Croan; husband, Roy Carpenter Sr.; and son, James Carpenter. Survivors include two sons, Roy Carpenter, Jr. (Ina) and Bill Carpenter (June); three grandchildren; Sheila Brauning (Alan), Kevin Carpenter and Kimberly Kane (Jeremy); four stepgrandchildren; Kim LaFear, Terri Wedding (Gene), Michelle Winebrenner (Troy) and Kenneth Troxler; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Brauning, Hannah Carpenter, Spencer and Hannah Kane; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Isabel Winebrenner, Ashley LaFear, Amy Newton, Aaron LaFear; and one stepgreat-great granddaughter, Kaylen Newton. Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Eastside Baptist Church, Shepherdsville, with burial in Bullitt Lick Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Saturday and noon- 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hardy-Close Funeral Home in Shepherdsville.
