Casey, Helen HAVERHILL, Mass. Helen Dobis Casey (Schnapp) passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. She was the loving wife of the late George Casey Sr. and was seen off on her journey home to the Heavenly Father by Mary Beth and Michael and was surely welcomed home by George, Gar and Dave. Born in Green Island, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Farkas Dobis, she resided in Green Island all of her lifetime, moving to Atkinson, N.H. a short time ago to reside with her daughter, Mary Beth. She was a 1944 graduate of Catholic Central High School and had been employed as a clerk by the NYS Department of Criminal Justice for 11 years, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of the former St. Joseph's Church in Green Island. Survivors include her children, Mary Beth (Michael) Duffy of Atkinson, Gregory (Jacqueline) Schnapp of Schaghticoke, Alan (Ronni) Schnapp of Rotterdam and Barbara LaPosta of Green Island; also survived by 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Dakota and Gavin Ritter of N.H. who, in a few short months, made a lifetime of memories with their Mimi; and her dear friend, Helen Robideau of Watervliet. In addition to her husband, Helen was predeceased by her sons, Garrett and David Schnapp and her sisters and brothers, Josephine, Mary, Stephen and William Dobis. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass to be celebrated on Monday, October 18 (Helen's birthday) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brigid's Church in Watervliet. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Colonie. Arrangements by McNulty Funeral Home, Green Island.
