Fallon, Helen A. LANSINGBURGH Helen A. Gardner Fallon, 90, formerly of 16th Street, Watervliet, died on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. She had resided in Lansingburgh from 1947 until 2002 and had resided in Van Rensselaer Manor since January of this year. Born in Green Island, N.Y. on August 22, 1916, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Cherry Tierney Gardner. She was the loving wife of the late John T. Fallon Sr. A graduate of Heatly High School, Mrs. Fallon was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Troy and Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Watervliet. She worked for a short time for Central Market and Cluett, Peabody, Co. before becoming a homemaker raising her son. In her later years, she worked for Rensselaer County Unified Family Services Department of the Aging, Troy Area Senior Service Center assisting in the cafeteria and helping with "Meals On Wheels." She was predeceased by her son John T. "Jack" Fallon Jr.; a sister, Mary Sherman; and a brother, Joseph Gardner. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Keiko Fallon of Watervliet; four grandsons, Brian, Sean (Lori), Stephen, Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Amelia and Jack; and two brothers, William P. (Duke) Gardner and his wife Vilma of Latham and James T. (Kathleen) Gardner of Green Island; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:30 in St. Augustine's Church where a Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow next to her husband in St. John's Cemetery in Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. for visitation.
