RAYMOND, Hector Died at Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian site on December 18th, 2004 following a short time of illness, just shy of his 72nd birthday. Hector lived in Sudbury. He had been raised in the community of Falconbridge by his parents Arthur and Irene (nee Blake) Raymond, both predeceased. Also predeceasing him were his siblings Claudette, Morris and Kenneth. Surviving him are sister Gail Morrell, and brother Dennis both from the Toronto area, and brother Claude from Elliot Lake. Hector's early work experience included stints with Falconbridge Nickel Mines and MacIassac Mining. Later, he became a sign painter, and for a while operated Raymond's Signs in Coniston. His distinctive handiwork could be seen on downtown storefront windows and poster boards as recently as a few years ago. A freehand technique combined with bright primary colours and a crisp legibility were his hallmarks. Hector was a thoughtful and well informed fellow whose company will be missed by a core of good friends especially his caregiver Brenda Petryna. A celebration of Hector's Life will be held at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, Wednesday, December 22nd, 2004 at 8 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the Samaritan Centre. (Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday). 12/20/2004- ID5406911 - Sudbury Star
