METHUEN -- Hector J. St. Onge, 86, a longtime resident of Methuen and a World War II veteran, died Tuesday evening, March 20, at a local nursing home, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Claire B. (LeQuin) St. Onge, with whom he celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 21.He was born in Lowell, Feb. 26, 1921, son of the late Ubald and Beatrice (Tessier) St. Onge.Mr. St. Onge served in the Army during World War II.Before retiring, Mr. St. Onge managed the St. Onge Hardware Store in Dracut.He was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Methuen.Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Dolores Conley of Lawrence, and Diane and Allen Rudis of Methuen; five sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Peggy St. Onge of Windham, N.H., Richard and Mary St. Onge of Methuen, Donald and Sharon St. Onge of Windham, N.H., Paul and Irene St. Onge of Salem, N.H., and Daniel and Candace St. Onge of Methuen; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Gertrude St. Onge of Dracut; four sisters, Yvonne Troisi of Tewksbury, Rita Underwood, Maria Hodge and Jeannette Delisle, all of Lowell; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.He was also a brother of the late Florence Desrochers.
