FISHER, Heather JaneOctober 6, 1942 - May 6, 2012Heather Fisher, beloved wife of George of Calgary, mother to son Bill (Sarah) Fisher of Lethbridge and daughter Becky Fisher (Darren) of Calgary, and grandmother to Fynnigan Mullen-Fisher, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the age of 69 years. Heather graduated from Victoria School of Nursing in Halifax, NS and spent many happy years nursing in the Northwest Territories where she met and married George in 1968. They then settled in Calgary in 1975 and Heather became a stay-at-home Mom. She was the "go-to-mom" for most of the block to many youngsters that grew up in the area in the late 1970's. She resumed her nursing career in the 1980's with Upjohn Health Services and then joined Extendicare until she became disabled in 2004. Heather is survived by sisters, Elizabeth (James) Turner of Edmonton, Susan Canning (Buck) of Sherwood Park, AB; and brother Howard (Sue) Canning of Sherwood Park, AB. She was predeceased by her parents Ernie and Flo Canning. A Celebration of Heather's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
