She was the daughter of Mr. Michael Harold Smith of Warrenville, S.C. and Mrs. Elaine Carswell Smith of North Augusta, S.C. Surviving along with her parents are her paternal grandparents, Herbert and Margaret Odom of Bath, S.C.; maternal grandparents, Rex and Joyce Alspaugh of North Augusta, S.C. and Rayford Carswell of Aiken, S.C.; one brother, Brandon Michael Smith of North Augusta, S.C.
