Hazel Ruth Gudmandson (née Patterson) Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Ruth (Wilson) Gudmandson, on June 10, 2005, following a lengthy illness. Hazel was predeceased by her first husband, George Sydney Wilson; parents Charles and Mary Patterson; sisters, Edna Buchanan, Myrtle (Pat) Hindmarsh, Eunice Lawerence, and brother Lloyd George (Pat) Patterson. Hazel leaves a loving family to mourn her passing : husband Douglas Gudmandson; daughters, Beverly Shafirka (Ron), Tracy Boyer (Craig); son Russell Wilson (Lise) and stepsons, Bill Gudmandson (Nancy) and Hugh Gudmandson; grandchildren Heather Miller (Brian), Michael Shafirka, Jonathan Wilson, Donna Wilson, Paul Wilson, Reed Boyer, Carina Boyer, Jill Gudmandson, Kim Gudmandson, Scott Gudmandson and Michael Gudmandson, and sister Clara Farmer, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews. Hazel was born in Plumas, Manitoba in 1923, moving to Winnipeg in 1942, where she resided for most of her remaining life. She enjoyed camping (trailering) particularly throughout our beautiful Canada. Hazel spent many happy years curling: (St. Vital and Fort Gary Curling Clubs), and lawn bowling: (Norwood Lawn Bowling Club). Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception to celebrate Hazel’s life on Wednesday, June 15 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or a charity on ones choice.
