JACKSON, Hazel Mrs. Hazel Brown Jackson, age 93, of Palmetto, Ga., passed away March 16, 2014. She was a long, faithful, devoted member of Palmetto Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Hazel retired at the age of 83 as a bookkeeper for Frank Smith Hardware and Lumber Yard. For decades, she was also a tax preparer for hundreds of area residents. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Evans Jackson, Sr., and is survived by her daughter, Linda Carter and her husband, William B., of Easton, MD.; son, Edward Jackson and his wife, Peggy, of Concord; grandchildren, Sarah Carter Jules and her husband, Mark; Kimberly Jackson Thompson and Amy Elizabeth Jackson; also by Yvonne Parker Jackson, mother of Kimberly and Amy; great grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Thompson, Carter Lynn Jules, Parker Riley Jules; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 1 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Orr officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Palmetto Baptist Church Food Pantry, 504 Center St., Palmetto, GA 30268.
