WOODS, Hazel Jean - At Extendicare London on Monday, March 30, 2009, Hazel Jean Woods in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Ralph S. Woods (1913 - 1993). Loving mother of Brian Woods and his wife Wendy (Farmer) of London and Douglas Woods and his wife Kathryn (Baigent) of Brights Grove. Cherished grandmother of Gerrit of Whistler, Cameron of Vancouver, and Jess and Donovan of Toronto. Hazel will also be sadly missed by Ruth (Chambers) Woods. Hazel was the only child of William and Mary (Moore) Patterson of Three Bridges, and lived on the family's Century Farm until 1983. She enjoyed being a sister-in-law of Audrey Woods and the late Don Woods of Dorchester and also of the late Margaret and Clare Demaray of Gladstone. Aunt Hazel is also survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom she reveled to have as her family. Hazel was a faithful daughter, Aunt Helen's niece, a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a proud grandmother, a stout but broad minded Presbyterian, a determined teacher and most of all a constant student and promoter of self-improvement through education, reading, and community involvement. Although Hazel has battled Alzheimer's Disease for several years, during its onset she remained able to speak her special brand of perfect English, and always enjoyed reading and clipping articles from the daily newspaper. Visitation will be on Friday, April 3, 2009, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and one hour before the service, which is to be conducted at the A. MILLARD GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00 am, with Reverend Fred Demaray officiating Please join the family for a reception immediately following the service at the A. Millard George Funeral Home Reception Centre. Spring interment in Robins Hill Cemetery.
