Hazel B. Jackson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away May 24, 2012. Hazel was born in Brewton, Ala., to Evelyn and George Brown. Hazel met and married James O. Jackson in 1951. They have two sons, Robert and Brian. The couple owned and operated James O. Jackson Builders, Inc. and Mary Esther Plumbing, Inc. since 1962.Hazel had a great and varied social life. She enjoyed modeling, playing Bunko with her dear friends, square dancing, sewing, reading, going to the beach, and doing many activities with her sorority sisters.Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and sister, Elma McCurdy. Survivors include her brother, Leslie Brown (Carrie) of Brewton; sons, Robert (Cheryl), and Brian (Angelica); grandsons, Christopher Ryan (Ashleigh), Andrew Brian, Matthew Clark, Alec James, Wesley Gene, Austin Robert; great-granddaughter, Conleigh Grace; and many near and dear nephews, nieces and friends.Donations can be made to Covenant Hospice. The family would like to extend their sincerest and heartfelt thank you to Sharon Parker, all the loving angels at Superior Residences, and especially to Joe Murphy, whose companionship, love and care of Hazel has been unsurpassed.Her pall bearers will proudly be her six doting grandsons: Chris, Andrew, Matthew, Alec, Wesley and Austin."There will be dancing in Heaven today.There was no pain, just a peaceful goodbye as our precious Honey flew up to the heavens and into the sky.We can see her standing with her beautiful wingsSurrounded by family, where everyone sings.So there will be dancing in Heaven today.She did not die, she just passed away.So do not be sad for this isn't the endAs we were promised, we will all meet again."Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Mary Esther United Methodist Church with Funeral Services to follow at 3 p.m., at the Church.
