Mrs. Hattie Mae Goodwin, age 76, of Denton Drive, Gainesville passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Memorial services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Minister Abdussaboor M. Shamsuddeen will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, and from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at the funeral home. Mrs. Goodwin was born in Bleckley County but had lived for many years in Hall County. She was the daughter of the late Frank James Frazier and Lizzie Mae Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Goodwin. Mrs. Goodwin leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Diana G. Coley, Macon, Gail L. Leach, Nicholson, and Yvonne Goodwin, Gainesville; sons, Abdussaboor M. Shamsuddeen, Gainesville, Willie Goodwin, California, and Arvin V. Goodwin, South Georgia; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Frazier, Rocky Mountain, N.C.; sisters, Lucille Wimberly, Pompano, Fla., and Lucille Thomas, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.
