DAVIS, Harry Philip May 1, 1922 November 2, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, father-in-law, and friend Harry Philip Davis. Harry passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Vancouver General Hospital Cardiac Unit at the age of 89. He has just recently celebrated his marriage to his loving wife, Joan, of 70 years. He will be sadly missed by Joan, his daughter Francesca and her husband Don, and his friends from the Chown Centre, Brock House, Kerrisdale Centre, and the Columbus Residence. The family would like to thank the Cardiac Care Unit at VGH for its care and compassion in those last difficult moments. Harry, the proper true Englishman, loved his Arsenal football club, his Big Band music and his dancing, and always enjoyed giving a thank you speech for any occasion. His wish was to be remembered for his optimistic look at life and to celebrate life every day, so, with that in mind, there will be no service for his death, but a quiet moment can be taken to remind us all of what we have.
