ORMOND BEACH -- Harold S. Simpson, 92, of Bearcreek Path, a winter resident, died Sunday at Oceanside Hospice. Mr. Simpson, a Coast Guard veteran of World War II, was born in Dover, N.H. He was a permanent resident of Harpswell, Maine. He retired in 1980 as a newspaper pressman in Portland, Maine. Mr. Simpson was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially the Maine and Florida seaside. His other passion was building. He constructed five homes, finishing the last one at the age of 89. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Roberta; two daughters, Glenna Jillson, Ormond Beach, and Judith Stevenson, Mountainview, Calif.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care at Oceanside, 264 S. Atlantic Ave., Ormond Beach, FL 32176. Lohman Ormond is in charge.
