HAROLD W. MILES VALPARAISO, IN Harold W. Miles, age 90, of Valparaiso, IN. passed away on Monday, March 10, 2008. Harold was born in Terre Haute, IN. on February 22, 1918 to Foster and Elsie (Miller) Miles. He married F. Jane Lyon on December 6, 1941 in Terre Haute, IN. Mr. Miles graduated from the University of Chicago and Harvard Business School. He served with the US Navy during WWII. Harold spent 22 years in the paint business, first as an owner of a business in Hammond, IN and later as CEO of MAB Paint in Terre Haute, IN. In 1992 he became executive director of the Portage Chamber of Commerce, a position he held for 10 years. Harold is survived by his wife, Jane; sons: Eric (Joanne) Miles of San Francisco, CA and Gregory (Kathy) Miles of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Karin (David) Yett of Patzcuaro, Mexico; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Helen Jane Grills. Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory in Portage, IN. There will be no services. Memorials in Mr. Miles memory may be made to Dune Acres Civic Improvement Foundation, Inc., 21 Ridge Drive, Chesterton, IN 46304 in care of Howard Silverman.
