Hallie Lee Smith, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness. Visitation will be held tonight, Jan. 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Palmetto Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Smith was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Berry F. and Lena T. Richardson. She is also predeceased by her husband, Oscar D. Smith. Mrs. Smith worked at Southern Bell Business Office for 45 years. She was a member of Spring Branch Methodist Church, and was also affiliated with Telephone Pioneers. Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, Donald Smith and his wife, Cely, of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Bryan and Mitchell Smith, also of Greenville. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
