HALL, HILDA REBECCA GILL GADDY, 92Gainesville - Hilda Rebecca Gill Gaddy Hall, Age 92 peacefully slipped away on July 8, 2014 at her home. She was surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Hall was educated in the Alachua County School System. She was also employed by the Alachua County School System for 28+ years and in 1952 she officially became the first female school bus driver for Alachua County Schools. Prior to that time, Mrs. Hall provided transportation to black children in Rochelle, Grove Park and surrounding rural areas so that they could attend school. Mrs. Hall was a faithful and diligent member of Hall Chapel United Methodist Church, Rochelle, FL where she served as stewardess, choir member, finance committee member and church repair person. Other memberships included Primrose Lodge Eastern Star #107 and honorary member of the Elite Club. Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Chiari (Sebastian) of Rochelle, FL; two sons, Charles Gaddy of Gainesville, FL and Stanley Edward Hall (Felicia) of Rochelle, FL; step daughter, Thelma Mingo (Timothy) of Plantation, FL; daughter-in-law; Sylvia Gaddy of Hollis, NY; 5 grandchildren; Stacey Dixon (Robert), Natashia Gaddy, Lea Hall, Stanley Eric Hall and Jadyn Chiari; 2 great grandchildren, Anthony and Asianna; 1 brother, Lewis Dawkins (Evelyn) of Maryland; 1 sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Gaddy of Gainesville, FL; godson, Tony Ivey (Mary); children she claimed as her own, the offspring of the late Mrs. Bertha Cooper and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Hawthorne Middle/High School, Hawthorne, FL with Rev. Altheria Lenon, Officiating & Reverend Eugene Herring delivering the Eulogy. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Hall will be viewed at the Funeral Home on Friday 2:00PM-7:00PM and on Saturday, at the Hawthorne Middle/High School Auditorium 30 Minutes prior to the services and with the processional. The procession will form at the residence of Mrs. Hall, 6113 SE County Road234, Rochelle, FL at 9:15AM.
