Helen E. Jordan, age 71 of Baker, Fla., was surrounded by family as she went to be with the Lord on Dec. 7, 2012, and is rejoicing with her late husband, Doyle Jordan. She was born on Oct. 28, 1941, in Andalusia, Ala., and was a life-long resident of Baker. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Kennedy; husband, George; son, Jesse Jordan and wife, Linda; daughter, Brenda Ball and husband, David; daughter, Rhonda Styron and husband, Marvin; niece, Joyce Hoffman and husband, Chuck; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brother, James Rathel and wife, Elizabeth; and brother, Grady Rathel. Mrs. Jordan was retired from Baker School lunchroom after 30 and a half years of faithful service and was best known for delicious cinnamon rolls. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to church, listening to gospel music, and going out to eat with family and friends. Mrs. Jordan had a big heart, a kind soul, and truly cared for those closest to her. Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. The funeral services will take place on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.
