Mrs. Helen Goodheart Miller, aged 87, of Grand Rapids, MI, a West Nyack, NY resident, was born February 9, 1918 in Grand Rapids, MI to Anna and Cornelius Goodheart. She graduated from Textile High School in New York City, where she was an honor student and belonged to Arista. Mrs. Miller worked for the FBI in Grand Rapids and Kansas City, MO from 1941-1947. In 1947 she married Peter H. Covert. In 1951 the two founded Atlantic Microfilm Corp. They moved their plant from New York City to Pearl River, NY in 1957 and later to Spring Valley, NY. They were divorced in 1960. She worked for BOCES in New City and West Nyack, NY from 1959-1973. In 1971 she married Garrett E. Miller, Jr., owner of Miller Dairies in West Nyack. Mr. Miller died in a plane crash April 7, 1984 in Spring Valley, NY. Mrs. Miller was very fond of gardening and animals; she loved sports, especially golf and skiing. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Miller and her husband traveled extensively in their own airplane throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada. Mrs. Miller was a very concerned environmentalist. Mrs. Miller had no children. She is survived by her sister, Edwina Pauline (Ken) Martz of Fountain Valley, CA and her children and their families; Karen and Korby White, Carl and Denise Martz, Philip and Laurie Martz and David Martz, all in California. Helen was preceded in death by her older brother, William Goodheart on July 24, 2002. She is survived by his children and their families; Michael Goodheart and his wife Linda of Olathe, Kansas; Catherine Goodheart and her husband Tim Carney, of Williston, VT; Linda Comstock and her husband Thomas, of Barre, VT; John Goodheart of Philadelphia, PA; Diana Hayes and her husband Marty of St. Clairsville, OH; Mary Goodheart of Sommerville, MA; and Carol Hayes and her husband Ken, of Gorham, Maine. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 9, at 2:00 PM at the Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church, 51 Sickletown Rd., Pearl River, NY.
