Helen Anderson, 81, passed away peacefully at Cortland Regional Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Born on April 4, 1933 in Sydney, Australia, to parents, Harold and Ruby Vassie, Anderson immigrated to the United States in 1952 and lived most of her life in Syracuse, NY. She is survived by her sister, Jean Gilmer, Syracuse; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Anthony Rosato, Cortland; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Erik and Katrina Hale, San Diego; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Shelbi and Zach DuBord, Kirkwood; granddaughter, Tricia Hale, Chicago; and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by brother, Kenneth Vassie; parents; and husband, Eugene Anderson. A private memorial was held by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude. She will be greatly missed. Arrangements are under the direction of Riccardi Funeral Home, Cortland, NY. Date of Death: August 5, 2014
