SMITH, Hazel Harper Williams,age 91, died at a local hospital on July 5, 2007, after abrief illness. She was bornJuly 13, 1915, in Brewton, ALand moved to Montgomeryas a young child. She graduated from Sidney Lanier HighSchool with an Art Scholarshipto Huntingdon College. Sheis survived by two daughters:Sheryl S. Keller (Courtney) ofCoconut Grove, FL, & Suzanne Smith of Montgomery,AL; two grandsons: ChristianG. Keller of Coconut Grove,FL & Brian C. Keller (MichelleLaScala) of San Diego, CA;one nephew: Richard G. Williams (Barbara) & theirdaughter Caroline Grace Williams all of Wanatchee, WA.Mrs. Smith is preceded indeath by her husband of 66years, W. Walton Smith, herparents Moses A. and HazelHarper Williams of Selma, AL;brother, Richard G. Williams,sister-in-law, Mary Sullivan(Bunny÷ Williams & niece,Deborah Williams England.Mrs. Smith worked for the Alabama Public Library System,was an avid reader, was active in the Alabama BusinessWomen's Association andelected Woman of the Year.She was devoted to her family and pets, lived a long andhappy life and will be missedby those who knew her. Graveside services will beheld Sunday, July 8, 2007, at1:00 PM at GreenwoodCemetery with Rev. MichaelPayne officiating. Visitationwill be Saturday, July 7, 2007,from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM atLeak-Memory Chapel.
