CARTER, Mrs. Hattie Mae, 'Granny', 95, a resident of Montgomery, AL, expired Thursday, July 27, 2001. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. from the Mt. Zion AME Zion Church with the Rev. Claude Shuford officiating. Interment will follow at Remount Cemetery with Lee's Funeral Home Directing. Survivors are one son, David (Vinnie) Carter of Providence, RI. Three stepsons, Joseph (Birdie) Carter of Montgomery, AL. David (Alma) Carter of Providence, RI and Elkanna Carter of Los Angeles, CA. One step daughter, Loretta Lindsey of Montgomery, AL. One God son, L. C. (Dorothy) Handy. Two devoted friends, Ida Cheeks and Earl Springs. A devoted cousin, Marion Curry. Another devoted friend, Attorney James E. Wilson, Jr. Three grandsons. Nine step grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Family hour will be held on Monday, July 30, 2001 from 7:00-8:00 PM at Lee's Funeral Home Chapel.
