Harold "Pop" Lyons, age 80, a lifelong Cold Spring resident, died on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at his residence. Born March 5, 1929 in Cold Spring, NY, he was the son of the late Nathanial and Carrie (Conley) Lyons. Mr. Lyons was the founder of Harold Lyons & Sons, Inc. in Cold Spring, NY. He was a mem ber of the Cold Spring United Methodist Church, where he was also a trustee and consultant, trustee of the Cold Spring Ceme tery Association, and member of the Philipstown Republican Com mittee. He was an honorary mem ber of the North Highlands Fire Company, the former Nelsonville Fire Company, Cold Spring Fire Co. #1, Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Nelson ville Fish and Fur Club. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Eleanor (Allen) Lyons, in 1983. He is survived by two sons, Nathan H. Lyons and Ernest W. (Deirdre) Lyons, and two daugh ters, Beverley (Arthur) Hotaling and Barbara (Ray) Moore, all of Cold Spring. One brother, David Lyons of Cold Spring; twelve grandchildren, Arthur and Adam Hotaling, Ellen Kilmer, Melissa Gallwitz, Richard Johnson Jr., Robert Johnson, Cory and Alexis Lyons, Jennifer, Victoria, and Courtney Lyons and Nicole Phillips; and twenty great grand children also survive him. He was predeceased by six brothers, Wendall, Nathan "Widgie", Fred erick "Fittie", Francis "Dick", John "Jack" and Clarence "Wi nkie" Lyons; and two sisters, Har riett Hustis and Gloria "Sissy" Trocheck. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at the Cold Spring United Methodist Church, 216 Main Street Cold Spring, NY. Inter ment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Cold Spring United Methodist Church on Monday and Tuesday, April 13th & 14th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Donations in Mr. Lyons name may be made to the Cold Spring United Meth odist Church or the Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps., 14 Cedar Street, Cold Spring, NY 10516. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clinton Fu neral Home, Cold Spring, NY.
