Gwendolyn Louise Hammon, 69, a longtime resident of Wewahitchka, Fla., passed away Sunday May 25, 2008. Mrs. Hammon is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hammon; her father, Roy Benjamin Whitefield; and her mother, Cora Lee Alford. Mrs. Hammon was a homemaker and loved her family. She is survived by two sons, Tim Hammon and wife, Louann Haughton, of Seattle and Kevin D. Hammon and wife, Alexandra, of Bergen, N.Y.; one brother, Roy E. Whitfield and wife, Anna, of Sebastian, Fla.; and a close friend, Robert Knowles of Wewahitchka, Fla. She also is survived by three grandchildren and was close to many members of the Wewahitchka graduating class of 1956.
