She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and a retired seamstress from Manhattan Shirt Co. Widow of Clayton Morris and preceded by son, Walker Yates. Survivors: son, Charles Yates of Jesup; six grandchildren, Sharleen Blocker, Peggy Smith, Mary King, Tommy Yates, Carl Yates and Donna McPipkin; two daughters-in-law, Althea Yates of Jesup and Velma Yates of Jesup; best friend, Ruby Ingram of Jesup; eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great- grandchildren. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. October 3, 2003 in Rinehart Chapel. Burial: Jesup City Cemetery.
