Greta Elizabeth Gallant (née Wilson) July 06, 1911 - June 25, 2008 Greta was born on July 6, 1911 in Turtle Creek, New Brunswick. She was married to Frank Bert Gallant on February 12, 1930 until he died on October 13, 1988. She passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in Waterdown, Ontario. Our Mom has nine children, Anna and Ralph, Frank and Helen, Marilyn and John, Carole and Hy, Gary and Geri, Gail and Ken, Susan and Yvon, Bob and Louise, and Penny and Cal, including five sons-in-law and three daughters-in-law. She loved each and every one of us with all her heart. There was nothing she would not do for any of her children. She did without so that all of us could have what we needed and wanted. She worked so very hard all of her life. Her children were her life. Many people today will say that being a "stay-at-home" Mom isn't a real job, but for our Mom it was the only job she ever wanted. It was an extremely hard job, no one could ever doubt, but she did it wholeheartedly and loved everything about being our Mom. She was always there for each of us when we had a problem, a disappointment, a special minute, a great accomplishment, anything at all, it was also hers. She felt our pain, our disappointments, our successes and our joys. She was always very proud of all her children. Not one of us could ever do any wrong. Her very best times were when all her children were home with her. She loved the laughter, the teasing and the conversations that we would have together. It was never too much work or too hard for her to get things organized for everyone's arrival. She enjoyed all of it, so long as her children were home. She has fourteen grandchildren, Courtenay, Judy, Sharon, Gregory, Peter, Trevor, Tracy, Troy, Tasha, Celina, Craig, Brett, Rick, and Keith as well as eleven great-grandchildren. She loved them all and could never get enough of them. Her glory was when she was asked to babysit for a few hours. This would give her plenty of time to spoil them. She loved it in every way. She was a very special Mom, with a heart of gold, and we all love her with all our hearts and will miss her terribly. A family Graveside Service will take place at Meadowvale Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Please sign the Book of Condolence at www.kitchingsteepeandludwig.com
