Gregory Scott Johnson, 42, of Cherokee, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008.Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, with burial at Mount Hester Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Griffin will officiate.Mr. Johnson was a native of Cherokee, Ala., and was a Christian.He was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Johnson, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Rutherford.Survivors include his mother, Brynda Rutherford Johnson; brother, Brad Johnson and wife, Tallie; sisters, Susy Nichelson and husband, Keith, and Theresa McWilliams and husband, Bryan Dale.Pallbearers are Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Dondi James, Roy Griffin, Terry Posey and Michael Malone.Honorary pallbearers are his nephews, Jordan and Josh Nichelson, Will and Tanner Johnson and Tucker McWilliams.Morrison Funeral Home, of Cherokee, is directing.
