Gracie Lee Carter, 79, died Aug. 8, 2008, in Gainesville. She was born in Eden, N.C., and lived in Gainesville for three years coming from Fort Pierce. She was a homemaker and a member at Westside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce. Survivors include her son, Douglas Carter of Raleigh, N.C.; daughter, Susan Buckley of Gainesville; brother, Curtis Giles of Pensacola; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Smith Carter. SERVICES: Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, with the Rev. Mark Greene officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, following the service.
