Grace Nell Welborn Morris, age 82, moved to Heaven May 16, 2009, to see Jesus and to join her husband, Coleman Morris, who went ahead of her on Nov. 22, 2005. Grace Nell was the first born child to Grady and Clemmie Welborn of Gillsville. She was the first born of seven children. Preceded in death are her brothers, Howard Welborn and Hoyal Welborn; and her sister-in-law, Wylene Welborn. Survivors include her two sisters, Cat Jones and her husband, William Jones and Carolyn Crumley and her husband, Jolly; her brothers, Brad Welborn and his wife, Marie and Dwayne Welborn and his wife, Peggy; her sister-in-law, Deloris Welborn; her brother-in-law, Robert Morris; numerous nieces and nephews; her grandchildren, Tanya Woody, her husband, Kevin Woody, and their children, Will Woody, Wyatt Woody, and Bella Grace, Tim Pinson, his wife, Bridget, and their children, Preston Cole and Savannah Pinson, Amy Williams, her husband, Robbie Williams, and their son, Hayden Williams, and Katie Morris and her brother, Ben Morris. Mrs. Morris was a blessed woman surrounded by these loved ones mentioned and her New Bridge Baptist Church friends and neighbors, too numerous to mention. Not often included in an obituary but thought to be important in this day and time. In honor of their father, Coleman Morris, who left the charge with his three children to please take good care of your Mother, The three children, Ronnie Morris and his wife, Angela, Danny Morris and his wife, Lynn, and Pam Abernathy and her husband, Truett took that request to heart. Danny took his mother breakfast every morning while Ronnie and Pam, along with Danny's help, took their mother out to dinner every night for over two years, Ronnie took his mother to the beauty shop weekly while Pam took her to Belks, Kohls, Macy's, and Red Lobster, her favorite places. Angela, Lynn, and Truett were just as involved with the care of their mother-in-law. This is only written in the obituaries to encourage other children to play a "bigger than life role" in the care of the parent who is left behind. Most of our parents were married 50 to 70 years before one spouse moves on. That alone is worthy of our appreciation as children. We were blessed to be in a family with strong Christian values in regards to God, family, and friends. Now God has decided to reunite Mom and Dad, we experience sadness and loss, however, it is laced with a deep peaceful feeling of having fulfilled God's command and dad's request, "Children, honor your Father and your Mother." Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 1 p.m. at New Bridge Baptist Church with internment to follow at New Bridge Cemetery. The Rev. Milton Harris and the Rev. Kevin Woody will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, May 18, 2009, from 4 to 6 p.m. and again at 7 to 9 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to New Bridge Baptist Church, 3120 Cleveland Highway, Gainesville, GA. 30507.
