Miller, Grace M.Jun. 25, 1911 - Aug. 9, 2013Grace M. Miller, 102, of Harrisonburg passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community (VMRC) in Harrisonburg, VA.Mrs. Miller was born June 25, 1911, near Martinsburg in Blair County, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Isaac and Laura Durr Metzler. On June 23, 1936, she married Paul N. Miller, who preceded her in death on November 10, 2000.Grace and Paul moved to Harrisonburg in 1938 and lived there until moving their family to Illinois in 1956. While in Illinois, Grace worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 1980, Grace and Paul moved to Sarasota, Fla. Grace moved to VMRC in January 2009. She was a member of the Bay Shore Mennonite Church, Sarasota. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur Metzler, Elwood Metzler, Isaac "Ike" Metzler, Jr.; and two sisters, Myrtle King and Edith Weaver.Surviving are two sons, Carl Miller and wife, Nancy, of Marathon, Fla., and Ed Miller and wife, Joann, of Bigfork, MT.; daughter, Helen Lampman and husband, Bill, of Centreville, MD.; two grandchildren, Michael Miller and wife, Nancy Oswald, of Portland, OR., and Terri Miller and husband, John Gibaut, of Geneva, Switzerland and one great-grandchild, Gabriel Isaac Oswald Miller. She is also survived by sisters, Mary Stephen of Bel Air, MD and Kathryn Bowser of Accident, MD.A private graveside service will be held at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota, FL. A memorial service will be scheduled in Harrisonburg at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the VMRC Foundation, 1501 Virginia Ave., Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
