Mrs. Grace Cagle Morris, age 89, of Florence, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at Glenwood Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center after an extended illness.The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at Florence Boulevard Church of Christ, with Brother Fred Dillon, of Florence, officiating, and assisted by Brother Bill Bagents. Interment will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, with committal services conducted by Brother Chris Kemp.Pallbearers will be Bruce Hall, Don Deaton, Jimmy Black, Carson Hammond, Gerald Reeves, Gene Gooch, Calvin Miles and Tommie Liles.Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Webb, Ken Young Sr., Duel James, Harlon Goolsby and Glen Mayhall.A native of Decatur, Ala., she was a member of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Morris; her parents, David and Berta Mooney; brother, Thomas Mooney; sisters, Nannie, Ruth, Dorothy and Francis.Survivors include her children, Virginia Ingrum and husband, Dalton, of Tuscumbia, Shelby Woods and her husband, Charles, of Florence, Dwight Cagle, of Florence; brother, William O. Mooney, of Decatur; sister, Pat Craig, of Morris; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.The family offers as an alternative to flowers that contributions be made in honor of Grace Morris to the Activities Fund of Glenwood Convalescent Center, 211 Ana Drive, Florence, AL 35630.The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Robert Webb and the entire staff of Glenwood Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center for their dedication and loving care.Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, is directing.
