ROPER, Gordon James August 3, 1923 - October 16, 2012 Gordon passed away peacefully within the circle of his family and friends in his 90th year. Gordon was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. He received his Electrical Engineering degree from UBC in 1949, married Doris Dau and moved to Victoria the same year. Gordon worked for BC Hydro for 35 years, becoming General Manager for Vancouver Island in 1973. He retired in 1984 and enjoyed woodworking, spending time at the family cottage and being with his grandchildren. Gordon, Dad, Grandpa, Doh, Uncle Gord will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Doris, his three children, Barbara (Larry), Cathie, John (Badge) and grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. Our thanks to all the caregivers at both Sunrise Senior Living and Kiwanis Pavilion for their excellent and compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at McCALL'S SEQUOIA GARDENS, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Monday October 22nd at 2:00 pm. Donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC or to a charity of your choice.
