->Gloria RuthHutchinsMatthewsCONCORD, NC - Gloria Ruth Hutchins Matthews, 84, of 536 Gatsby Place NW Concord, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at The Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg, NC.She was born on February 27, 1927 in Lakewood, New Jersey to the late David Earnest and Edythe Burdge Hutchins. She was also preceded in death by a son Richard Byron Matthews. She was a member of Woodfield United Methodist Church in Damascus, MD.Mrs. Matthews graduated in 1944 from Lakewood High School. She worked for G. Clinton Griggs RE Insurance. She married her husband William on December 25, 1947 after he returned from the war. Mrs. Matthews was a member of Carasalgo Chapter #49 of The Eastern Star, Worthy Matron and District Deputy of The16th District, Damascus Garden Club, Secretary, President, Flower Show chairperson.
