GREER, Gloria Jean (Bowie) "Gigi," 61, of Tampa, passed away August 15, 2005. She was preceded in death by her father, Ulysses Bowie Sr. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Wilbert; two sons, Michael of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Chris of Tampa; grandson, Jordan Greer of Tampa; and her constant companion, "Precious". She is sadly missed by her mother, Rose Bowie Huff of Alton, Ill.; brothers, Ulysses (Marcia) Bowie of Orlando, Richard Bowie of Kansas and Rodney Bowie of Alton, Ill.; sister, Eloise Bowie Webster of Alton, Ill.; nephews, Adrian and Dorian Bowie of Orlando, and Jonathan and David Webster; niece, Candace (Bradley) Davis; great-niece, Brandy Nicole Davis; and great-nephew, Bradley Scott Davis; all of Alton, Ill. Gloria was a registered nurse who last worked at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa. She was well loved by her patients who called her "Ms. Bows" for the colorful hairbows she always wore. She also had two bachelor's degrees, one in history from San Francisc o State University and the other in education from the University of South Florida. Gloria was a world traveler and lived in various location including Oslo, Norway, and Angeles City in the Philippines. She was a member of the Northdale Congregation of Jehova's Witnesses. She used every opportunity to express her love for her creator Jehova GOD. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters throughout the world. Her memorial sermon will be at the Northdale Congregation, Kingdom Hall of Jehova's Witnesses, 15028 Barby Ave., Tampa, FL 33625, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005. She will be interred at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking people to make a memorial donation to LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care, 13902 N. Dale Mabry Highwa, Suite 290, Tampa, FL 33618, or to the worldwide work of Jehova's Witnesses.
