Funeral service for Gladys Mae Johnson, 97, Woodstock Court, Ormond Beach, who died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Olds Hall Good Samaritan Nursing Home, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, in the chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. Visitation will be today (Monday, April 3), from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 7, 1909, in Cleveland, Va. She moved to this area in 1952 from Virginia. A homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, and taking care of people. She was a member of Daytona Christian Church and received a Merit Award in 1998 for reading through the entire Bible. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Mundy, Ormond Beach; three grand-children, six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Connie Halliday. She was predeceased by her husband, HB Johnson (November 1963) and her son-in-law, Joseph Mundy.
