JACKSON, Gladys Lenore1915 - 2014Gladys Jackson passed away peacefully on the 11th day of October, 2014 at the Leduc Community Hospital at the age of 99 years. Gladys was born on the 2nd day of August, 1915 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to Frank and Ellen Brigden. Gladys is survived by her son Allen Negard and granddaughter Dallas (Robert) Larose as well as 4 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Alex Negard (1970), her second husband Roy Jackson (1984) and her sister Marion Stephenson (2013). Gladys received the life time service award from the Sons of Norway Lodge commemorating 50 years of service with the ladies auxiliary; she is well remembered for her Christmas baking and most notably her short bread and homemade fudge. Gladys was also very active for many years with the Okotoks Seniors Club where she held positions as treasurer, vice president and president. Gladys also enjoyed camping and the outdoors; she was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed knitting and crochet. A Celebration of Gladys's Life will take place on the 17th day of October, 2014 at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 301 MacLeod Trail in High River, Alberta at 1:30 p.m. Donations can be made in memory of Gladys to the Canadian Cancer Society of Alberta and NWT, 325 Manning Rd.
