Inez Cook, age 89, of Crestview, passed away Friday night, May 30, 2008, at Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Monroe County, Ala., on June 3, 1918, and has been a longtime resident of Crestview. Inez was a homemaker and Baptist by faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Inez was preceded in death by her husband Quincie M. Cook Sr., brothers Clyde and Ellis Sawyer and sisters Anna Laura Sheffield and Julia Rollo. She is survived by her three sons: Quincie M. Cook Jr. and his wife Margaret, Robert Ray Cook and his wife Faye and Chris Cook, all of Crestview; a brother: Fred Sawyer of Pea Ridge, Fla.; and two sisters, Vivian Willcutt of Berry, Ala., and Mildred Boone of Pea Ridge, Fla. Inez also has three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2008, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The funeral service for Inez will be held Monday, June 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
