Gladys E. Peters, 87, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., passed away early Tuesday morning July 10, 2012, at her home. Family and friends are asked to gather for a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church, 37 Church Mall, Springfield, N.J. 07081 on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at 1 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc., 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301. www.lantermanallenfh.com. Gladys was born in Rahway, N.J., on June 5, 1925, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Felmly) Stevens. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Springfield, N.J., for 57 years, and was the church treasurer for 12 years. She also volunteered for A.A.R.P. as a treasurer and as the community event planner for 10 years. Gladys worked for many years as a purchasing agent for P.H. Warner in New Jersey. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Robert Peters, who passed in 1987. Surviving are her two loving daughters, Karen Peters of East Stroudsburg, Pa., and Susan Joyce of Florida. She also leaves behind her extended family, the DeCiccos. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Springfield, N.J.
