ALLEGANY - Gladys A. Williams, formerly of 88 N. First St., passed away Monday (May 28, 2012) in The Pines of Machias nursing home.Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 12, 1915, in Hamburg, Pa., and was married to Paul M. Williams, who predeceased her March 12, 1990.She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany and was active in the church guild. She was an avid golfer and formerly belonged to the Allegheny Hills Golf Club in Rushford and the Birch Run Country Club in Allegany. She also enjoyed bowling.Surviving are two sons, Richard P. Williams of Cuba and Daniel E. (Janet) Williams of Apalachin, N.Y.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters; four brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Naomi Williams, on June 4, 1995.Friends will be received Friday (June 1, 2012) at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean, from noon until services at 2 p.m. The Rev. John Woodring, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
