RUSSELL Gertrude T. Russell, age 87 of St. Augustine, passed away on December 2, 2003. She was born on September 13, 1916 in Spokane, Washington to Frank and Gertrude (Simmones) Benish. Gertrude moved to the St. Johns area in 1980 from Jacksonville. She loved to play Bingo, cards, watch game shows and was of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Russell, Sr. in 1996 and her sister, Vivian Ochs. Gertrude is survived by two daughters, Clara Sumner of Orange Park and Katherine Cockrell; two sons, Raymond Russell of Jacksonville and Daniel Russell of Greer, SC; sister, Rosalie Bujarski of Columbus, OH; eleven grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday, December 8, 2003, 2pm at Helm Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Mockay officiating. Interment was in the Orangedale Cemetery.
