MERIDEN - Gertrude F. Williams, wife of late Ernest J. Williams, died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007. Born in Meriden on Oct. 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Nowak Filipek. She had resided in Meriden, attended St. Stanislaus School, Lincoln and Meriden High School. Mrs. Williams was employed by New Departure. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Williams Maliszewski and husband, Ted; one son, David T. Williams and his wife, Lorraine; five grandchildren, Vincent Maliszewski, Kelly Millard, Amy Boris, Victoria Smallwood and Ryan Maliszewski; eight great-grandchildren, Neil Boris, Alaina Boris, Zachary Wilson, Travis Millard, Grant Smallwood, Ashlynn Smallwood, Kate Maliszewski, Cody Maliszewski; one brother; Cornelius Filipek; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven sisters; Lucy Bombalicki, Adeline Mount, Aurelia Zych, Clara Simmons, Florence Forster, Theodora Filipek, Valerie Filipek. The funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 10:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
