TUSCALOOSA | Gertrude Eleanor Colson Walker age 94, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away on October 2, 2014 at DCH. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude R. Walker.She is survived by her sons, James (Barbara) and Robert (Rebecca); and her grandchildren, John Robert Walker (Lindsey) and Rebecca Walker Sherman (Nathaniel)Eleanor was born in Aliceville, AL in 1920. She was the daughter of RG Colson and Gertie Evans Colson, Eleanor along with her seven brothers and sisters. She married the coach of Greene County High School, Claude R. Walker. They had two sons Robert and James. Pallbearers will be Jeff Webster, Gerald Smith, Richard Habbin, Gary Beckler, William Denton, and Tommy Meddens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or The First Presbyterian Church in her honor.
