ROCHESTER &#8212;&lt;B&gt; &lt;/B&gt;Gerard N. Moore, 87, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Colonial Hill of Rochester after a long period of failing health.Mr. Moore was born in Dover on Dec. 25, 1922, the son of Francois and Maria (Marois) Moore and lived most of his life in Rochester, moving from Somersworth.Jerry was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a member of the American Legion. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an foreman inspector, general foreman and headed the refueling section on nuclear reactors at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 36 years. He also owned and operated Jerry Moore Aluminum Products for 23 years. After his retirement from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, he served as general manager for Downeast Drilling Company of Barrington, then at Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant as an inspector, then was employed at Tyco Industries. Jerry held a commercial pilot license since 1945, was a member of the Aircraft Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Jerry was a devoted Catholic and member of Holy Rosary Church in Rochester.Surviving members of the family include his wife, Elaine (Jalbert) Moore of Rochester; two sons, Richard J. Moore and his wife, Julie, of Wells, Maine, and Paul J. Moore and his wife, Yuanita, of Rochester; one daughter, Carol A. Frolich and her husband, David, of Sanbornville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Moore and his wife, Pat, of Somersworth, Richard Moore and his wife, Terry, of Kennebunk, Maine, and Larry Moore and his wife, Arlene, of Newmarket; four sisters, Theresa Tardiff of Sanford, Maine, Jeannette Veno of Dover, Lucille Desilets and her husband, George, of Rochester, and Alice Gagnon and her husband, Vic, of Rollinsford. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and special friends.He was predeceased by his first wife, Marie in 1991; a son, Gerard (Jerry) Jr. in 1971; a sister, Madeline Demers; a sister, Marie Ange Moreau Koser; and a brother, Julien (Bob) Moore.Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin &amp; Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester, on Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Rochester, on Thursday with burial with full military honors in Holy Rosary Cemetery in the spring.
