Geraldine Louise Knapp Lucasof North Port, Fla.Geraldine Louise Knapp Lucas, 79, of North Port, Fla., went home to be with her Lord on December 14, 2002. She was born on August 24, 1923, in N.Y., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Binghamton, N.Y. She was a Postmaster in Castle Creek, N.Y., for 28 years until her retirement in 1986. She attended First Baptist Church of North Port, Fla., and W. Chenango Methodist Church in Binghamton, N.Y. She was a member of the North Port Poetry Club, North Port Art Guild, North Port Democratic Club, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Geraldine was a giving person all of her life who cared deeply about her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Ludwig James Lucas. She is survived by two sons, Larry Lucas, North Collins, N.Y., Dean (Terry) Lucas, Walden, N.Y.; a stepmother, Dorothy Knapp, North Port, Fla.; two brothers, Donald Knapp, Sarasota, Fla., Dick Knapp, Castle Creek, N.Y.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church of North Port. Memorial donations may be made to the W. Chenango Methodist Church, Upper Stella Ireland Rd., Binghamton, NY 13905, or to First Baptist Church of North Port, 8000 Dorothy Ave., North Port, Fla. 34287.
