<br> -->Gerald Thomas Jenkins II COLUMBIA, SC-- Graveside service for Gerald Thomas Jenkins II, 47, will be held Monday, January 26, 2009 at 10:00 AM in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Jenkins died Monday, January 19, 2009. Born in Charleston, he was a son of Gerald Thomas Jenkins and the late Henrietta Bizzell Jenkins. A graduate of Dorman High School and veteran of the U.S. Navy, he worked many years for GE in Spartanburg. He volunteered weekly at the Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia and worked in group homes with disabled veterans. Surviving are son, Joseph Austin Jenkins; daughter, Taylor Marie Jenkins; father and stepmother, Gerald T. and Melba A. Jenkins of Pauline; brother, Richard B. Jenkins of Charleston; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy Jenkins and Ken Courtney of Austin, TX; and brother and sister-in-law, William W. and Verna Jenkins of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by brother, Jon Thomas Jenkins; and sister, Judy Ann Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Restoration Place of Columbia, 1714 Nursery Hill Rd., Columbia, SC 29212.
