PATTERSON, Gerald "Roger" After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gerald "Roger" Patterson on Tuesday evening, October 7, 2008 at the age of 52 years with his family at his side. Roger will always be loved and remembered by his soul-mate, Lisa; son, Jody of Calgary; daughters, Kari (Jeff) Thomas of Delta, BC, Dana (Jon) of Sundre, AB, Paige of Sundre, AB; stepchildren, Bobbi-Jo (Merle) of Caroline, AB, Gunner (Kari) of Caroline, AB; Sissy (Luke) of Red Deer, AB; grandchildren, Logan, Ryker, Alexander and Oliver; his father, Gerald of Mayerthorpe; brother, Dell; sisters, Ruthie (Gerald), Laurel (Dave), Kelly (Bruce), Connie (Gary); treasured friends, Wendy Patterson and Bobby Golden; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his mother, Helen (May 15, 2003). Roger was born and raised in Mayerthorpe, AB and later settled in Sundre, AB where he raised his family and made numerous new friends. Roger worked in the oilfield working on rigs, millwrighting, running and repairing top drives in many places including China, Holland, Germany, Greece and Iraq. Roger was a liver transplant survivor receiving part of his stepson, Gunner's liver. Roger enjoyed quadding, ski-dooing, boating and camping with his family and friends. Roger was very compassionate and well loved. He will be dearly missed and not forgotten. A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held Sunday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Community Hall, Blue Ridge. Inurnment in Blue Ridge Cemetery. Cremation has taken place in the Park Memorial Crematorium. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the University Hospital Foundation, 8440 - 112 Street, Edmonton, AB T6G 2B7 for the Liver Transplant Program.
