Gerald Joseph Jerry Raymond, age 71, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. He was born in Lynn, MA on Oct. 11, 1941, a son of the late Arthur and Catherine R. Dearing Raymond. He was educated in Framingham and was a graduate of Fisher Jr. College. He had moved to Plymouth from Natick in 1974 and worked as a Fire Fighter for the Town of Plymouth, retiring in Oct. 2006. He was a member of the American Legion Post #40, the Unity Club, and the Cold Spring Athletic Club, where he also worked as a part time bartender. Jerry enjoyed skiing, driving, traveling, and playing shuffleboard. He was an avid sports fan and was known for his adventurous enthusiasm. He will be dearly missed by the many lives he touched. Jerry is survived by his children; William Zachary Raymond of Birmingham, Ala., Nannette Brindle and her husband Jonathan of Portsmouth, Va., Renee Hough and her husband Brannen of Merrimack, N.H., and Jordan Raymond of Plymouth, Mass. He also leaves his sister Joan Raymond of Zephyrhills, Fla. and was predeceased by his brother Paul Raymond of Wesley Chapel, Fla. He was the cherished grandfather of his granddaughter Samantha Hough, grandson Dalton Brindle and granddaughter Logan Brindle. The visitation took place on Tuesday, July 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, July 24, at 9 a.m. from the Cartmell Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peters Church, Plymouth at 10 a.m. Interment in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
