Gerald Higgins 1939-2014 At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 11th, 2014, Gerald Edward Higgins went to be with his Lord and Saviour after a lengthy illness, at the age of 75. Born and raised in Marysville, NB, he was the son of the late Viola and Bill Higgins and husband of Linda J. Higgins for 21 years. Gerald was employed by the City of Fredericton for 26 years before leaving on Long Term Disability then retiring. In addition to his wife, Linda, Gerald is survived by his son, Todd Higgins (Brenda); step son, Troy Brewer of Ottawa, ON; granddaughter, Natasha Higgins; several step grandchildren; very special cousin, Hugh MacDowell of Florida, US; many nieces and nephews; baby dog, "Daisy" and cats "Minnie" and "Dolly". Gerald was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen Daly; sister, Joan Ellen and her husband, Ed Fletcher. Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm at Serenity Free Will Baptist Church with a service immediately following at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014. Rev. Laurie Fenerty and Pastor Jeff Crabtree will officiate. Burial will take place in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. The family requests no flowers please. For those who wish, donations in Gerald's memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
