The Screven County native had retired from the U.S. Navy, was a retired electrical inspector for the City of Savannah and Chatham County, a member of Burkhalter Baptist Church and was an avid hunter. Survivors include his wife, Shannon B. Davis of Springfield; a son, Anthony Howard Davis of Savannah; two sisters, Florine Wilcher of Savannah and Violia Abernathy of Savannah; a brother, Howard Davis of Spring Cove, FL; a granddaughter, Kirsten Paige Davis and a number of other relatives. Visitation: 3-5 p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2005 at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel. Funeral: 11 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2005 in the funeral home Chapel.
